Committee Reports:
Training: Ron Hinkley notified the Board that
the EVOC class will be held April 19th & 21st at
Station 62 and at the High School. A
schedule will need to be made of the order of appearance of apparatus. They all can not show up at once. The ambulance crew has asked to go first. Also, the Traffic Control 101 Class is May 5th
& 6th at Herndon Fire Co. from 0800 – 1600 hours. We have a lot of interest in this class for
these dates. Finally, the Herndon Fire
Co. will hold a drill at the Herndon Reload on April 28th. The time is not and will not be
announced. We DO NOT want unrealistic
responses. Remember to listen to the dispatch
and if they announce it as a drill DRIVE responsibly! The current list for the Essentials class
will be sent it this week. If anyone else needs to register, let me know or go
to the web site and register through the college.
Dennis
Willard stated that the Snyder County EMA will sponsor a Sky Warn Class on
April 16 at 1900 hours. Contact Roger
Dietz for more information at 570-539-0074.
Grant: Wal-Mart told Todd that we would
not get funding until the second or third quarter of 2007.
Recruitment:
We are still looking for a volunteer.
Fire Prevention/Emergency
Preparedness: Confirmation was given to the Susquehanna
Valley Shield of Caring Association that the MVESB would assist with the Safety
Trailer at the Annual Kid Care ID & Carnival Event on
Audit: None
By-Laws: The MVESB received a check for $100
from the Eldred Township Supervisors, along with their letter of joining, after
they received their copy of the By-Laws.
Todd contacted them to let them know that the Board was not asking for
the money. The township supervisors
stated that they wanted to give us the money to get started. Also, we received the official letter stating
that Herndon Borough and the Mahantongo Fire Company has joined the MVESB.
A discussion
was held about the letter that was to be sent out to the municipalities to further
explain that the MVESB is not asking for dues unless they absolutely need
funding. The Board unanimously decided
to not send the letter.
Also, a
discussion was held on if the Board should only allow members to join in
January of each year. The idea was
tabled.
